KUALA LUMPUR: The process of submitting the nomination papers for the 2013 Umno election nationwide was running smoothly as of 10am Saturday.
The process took place at most of the respective state Umno offices except for the Langkawi division as it was given an exemption to carry out the process at their own place due to logistical problems.
In Sabah, the supporters and representatives turned up as early as 8am at the state Umno headquarters to submit their nomination forms.
Lahad Datu State Assemblyman Datuk Yusof Apdal offered to contest for the top post of Umno Silam division by challenging the holder of the post Datuk Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur.
Meanwhile in Kelantan, Datuk Mohd Fatmi Che Salleh submitted his nomination papers to defend the post of Umno Kota Baharu division chief's post at the division's office.
